CONNECTING WITH CHURCH HISTORY
Church History Pix is a photographic history of significant places throughout the history of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It includes locations associated with the people, events and growth of the Church from the early 1800s through the present day. Some places are well-known by Church members while others are relatively unknown. They often have interesting histories from which valuable lessons have been and can yet be learned.
Brief descriptive narrative provides historical context for each location. Links to additional details can help enrich the study of Church history and enhance visits to many of these places.
All photographs were taken over a period of more than 25 years by Steve Mortensen. He continues to add new content periodically. About 60 of these images have been featured in Latter-day Saint magazines, books and websites. Every image is something of a window into time reflecting conditions of the moment captured. Many places have been improved in the intervening years, so some of these photographs are in reality part of the visual historical record.
